  • Objective

    In 2010, Statistics Estonia began IT preparations to use registry data for the census and develop a data processing system.

  • Solution

    We created VAIS (Survey Data Processing System), which enables data collection, processing, and loading into the database. VAIS consists of three main applications: VAIS Designer for assembling data processing packages, VAIS Operator for correcting detected data errors, and VAIS Administrator for managing and monitoring tasks. The system operates on a data warehouse schema and is part of the national statistics data collection framework.

    VAIS has improved efficiency in data collection and error correction, enhancing the overall accuracy and reliability of statistical processes.
